TABC Server Permit / On-Premise
Who Should Take This Course*:
Servers and managers in restaurants, bars, hotels, clubs or anyplace alcohol is sold for on-premise consumption
Eligibility Requirements:
All students must meet the following requirements established by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission:
You must be at least eighteen (18) years old and have a valid Social Security number
You may not have a felony conviction within the previous four (4) years
You may not have a conviction for any crime related to the sale of alcoholic beverages, beer, schedules 1 and 2 controlled substances, controlled substance analogues, or any sex-related crime or embezzlement within the previous eight (8) years
You may not have had an employee or server permit or similar permit issued in a foreign jurisdiction revoked by an issuing authority within the previous five (5) years
You may not have had any ownership interest in any wholesale, retail, liquor-by-the-drink, or beer license or permit revoked by the using authority within the previous eight (8) years
Certificate:
TopShelf Certificate of Completion. This certificate makes you eligible to apply for a Tennessee ABC 5-Year Server Permit.
Length of Course: State requires a minimum of five (5) hours of instruction
Description:
Certified by the Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC), this class meets state training requirements for ABC 5-Year Server Permits.
Taught by experienced instructors, this class equips you with the knowledge you need to serve alcohol legally and responsibly. Learn to recognize the effects of alcohol and discover the proven, easy way to examine IDs with TopShelf CODES of carding. State-specific alcohol laws that pertain to your job are included in the lessons. Class fee includes student workbook and handouts.
